Engine maintenance center is delivered to the Spanish Air Force

Gaptek has performed through a joint venture with Acciona Construcción the implementation of an engine maintenance center in Zaragoza, Spain. 

The engine workshop has been provided to the Organisation for Joint Armament Cooperation (OCCAR in French) and the end user is the Spanish Air Force of the Spanish Ministry of Defence.

The engine maintenance center has been successfully assembled complying with the pre-established deadlines. Its completion took no more than 18 weeks. In total, the area of the facility measures 4,300 sqm.

On the other hand, it has to be highlighted that, in this particular case, steel has been introduced in the structure. Therefore, steel and aluminium have been combined, contributing with the advantages of both materials to the structure of the engine maintenance workshop.

In addition, the engine maintenance center has been equipped with bridge cranes (up to 5 tones) that facilitate the transfer of the engines inside the facility.
